We typically hold two recruitment campaigns per year: a major one in September/October (at the start of the academic year) and a secondary one around March. During the spring window, only departments with open positions will recruit.

Each department lists its recommended topics in the Requirements section on its page. That said, passion, problem-solving curiosity, and dedication are often more important than prior expertise. Even if you feel like your skills are not enough, don't hesitate to give it a try!

The only strict requirement is being an actively enrolled student at Politecnico di Milano. Department-specific technical guidelines can be found at the bottom of each department's page.

The entrance test is different for each department. It typically includes a written test and an an interview to evaluate your motivation, problem-solving approach, and team fit.

This is mostly up to you. However, depending on the department and current project deadlines, we might expect a commitment of at least 6-8 hours a week. While academic studies always come first, consistency and teamwork are crucial to reaching our milestones.

Yes! We regularly travel for static engine tests, conduct annual launch campaigns at Campo Felice (Abruzzo), and compete internationally at events like EuRoC in Portugal. Participation is not mandatory, but it is an unforgettable hands-on experience.

Skyward is divided into specialized divisions: Aerodynamics, Electronics, Software, Guidance Navigation and Control, Modelling & Simulation, Propulsion, Recovery, Mission Analysis, Structures, Aeroelasticity and Structural Dynamics, Logistics, and Media. Members collaborate across Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), each dedicated to developing specific subsystems for our sounding rockets.
